Audrey collection: MODAL SILK BLEND: LUXURIOUS NATURAL FIBRE BLEND
Silk, one of the oldest, most precious fibres: Cocoons of the silk moth form the basis for the silk thread and have been cultivated in China, Japan and India since 3,000 BC.
A luxurious blend, as both fibres have a similar fineness. Silk enhances modal and reinforces the high-quality wearing properties (also reduces pilling)
Devoré: FABRIC PRODUCED USING THE BURNOUT PROCESS
The process is similar to screen printing. However, instead of colour, an etching paste is applied, which destroys parts of the fabric by etching. This process is known as devoré. The base fabric is always a mixture of at least two different fibres. One fibre (usually synthetic, such as polyester) is not damaged by the etching paste. The other fibre (usually cellulosic, such as cotton, linen or viscose) is removed during etching. This is why there is no hole in the burnt-out area, but a more more transparent area.
