How did he propose?

The proposal was relatively unexpected for me, even though we had already talked about getting married at some point. Last Spring, my boyfriend asked me if I wanted to go for an evening walk. We ended up strolling along a river during the sunset. We sat down on a bench and suddenly I felt the tension in my boyfriend. When I turned to him, he was already holding the box with the ring in his hand and asked me if I wanted to marry him.

What was the biggest challenge for you when preparing for your wedding?

I really enjoy organizing events and planning my own wedding was no different. I think many women fantasize about how they picture their wedding day at some point. After the proposal I started planning immediately and the concept was ready within two weeks. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic interfered and made the organization of the wedding quite difficult.

We had to reschedule several times. The big wedding celebration would have been this April, but now we have postponed it to October – hope that it can take place this time.

What moment are you most looking forward to at the wedding reception?

I'm most looking forward to the moment when we read each other our personal wedding vows and exchange the rings. We both chose three characteristics we loved about the other and had them engraved on our rings. However, this is currently still a secret and we will only be able to read what our partner has written about us when we exchange rings.

What’s your favorite HANRO product that every woman should wear on their most beautiful day in her life?

At HANRO there is a feminine, lacy collection made of flowing viscose every season. This spring, we have 'Irini' collection and there is a beautiful gown in the color Fullmoon that is definitely a must-have for me at my wedding. My bridesmaids and I will wear the gown before the ceremony while doing makeup and styling.

2021 WEDDING TRENDS
YES, I DO!

The saying, "Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue." is a tradition that many brides still follow today There are also new trends to look out for in the 2021 wedding season - from decorations, to wedding dresses, to gourmet menus, and party favors. We have summarized the most important wedding trends for you.

Dried Floral Decorations & Bridal Bouquet

Dried flowers are one of the biggest wedding trends of 2021. Not only do they look pretty as a bouquet, they serve as perfect décor too. Dried flowers create a romantic mood especially in neutral, pastel tones.

Sustainable Wedding Rings

Whether simple, ornate, or a modern design: most bridal couples want wedding rings made of gold. Vintage wedding rings made of recycled gold, which are produced sustainably without environmental destruction and exploitation, are currently trending. The focus is on sustainability and the reuse of used materials.

Frozen dessert

Rolled Ice Cream is the trend dessert this year. It’s also referred to as the Stir-Fried Ice Cream. This ice cream style originated in Southeast Asia. The delicate ice cream creation are not only a delicious dessert but also a great source of entertainment for the wedding as the dessert is prepared and served right in front of the guests.

Wedding dress with an open back

From A-line, mermaid and princess dresses, to tight lace gowns, bridal fashion is diverse. In 2021, wedding dresses with a cut-out back are all the rage. No wonder, because a wedding dress with a cut-out back is sexy, seductive, and elegant at the same time. This detail looks especially good on a mermaid style dress or a fit and flare dress.

Matching Wedding jackets

An extravagant eye-catcher at the wedding are the outfits. Many couples are opting to have matching bride and groom jackets. The jackets range from denim to leather with words such as "Just Married". The matching jackets serve as great accessories for unforgettable wedding photos.

Wedding favors with a personal touch

Giving your guests a little gift at the end of the ceremony has always been a well – received tradition. Especially personalized gifts with the name of the bride and groom or the name of the wedding guest are particularly popular. How about homemade jam, herb salt, or flower seeds for example?
