The quality of cotton is measured by the length and fineness of the cotton fibres. The longer and finer the fibre, the higher the quality and finer the fabric.
As an expert in natural fibres, HANRO only processes high-quality cotton fibres in the long staple and extra long staple categories. These include Giza cotton, Pima and Supima cotton as well as the highest quality cotton in the world, Sea Island cotton.
The high quality cotton used by HANRO is particularly strong, easy to care for and has a silky texture as well as a soft handle. In addition, HANRO uses elaborate and unique finishing processes to create an even shinier, more robust and durable end product.
GIZA COTTON

Egyptian cotton is considered one of the finest, most sought-after and most expensive cottons in the world. Giza cotton describes an extra-long staple fibre grown in the Nile Valley in Egypt. Fabrics spun from Egyptian cotton are particularly soft, durable, at the same time very fine and become increasingly delicate with age.
Because of its high absorbency, this cotton is often used for towels and bed linen. The production volume of Giza cotton is very low due to the requirements. and the limited acreage available for cultivation and accounts for only a small percentage of the world's cotton production.
PIMA COTTON

Fabrics made of Pima cotton are particularly durable and long-lasting. Due to the long and fine fibres, fabrics made of Pima cotton have a matt sheen and are extremely soft and flowing. Pima cotton feels smooth and pleasantly cool and retains body heat.
The bright white fibres accept dyeing better and colours stay beautiful and bright for longer. This cotton plant is very sensitive and has special requirements for soil conditions. That is why Pima cotton is only grown in a few countries such as Peru, Egypt and in some other countries.

SEA ISLAND COTTON

The rare and luxurious Sea Island cotton is one of the most precious cottons in the world. Share of the total cotton production is only 0.0004 %. It grows exclusively the West Indies in the Caribbean and irrigation is mainly natural due to heavy rainfall. Due to the climatic conditions prevailing there, particularly long cotton fibres grow, which can be spun into very fine and tear-resistant threads. That is why fabrics made of Sea Island cotton feels so soft and silky, similar to cashmere.
To protect this regional product, the WISICA (West Indian Sea Island Cotton Association) inspects the cultivation of Sea Island cotton and issues corresponding certificates that guarantee the authenticity and origin of the cotton.

MERINO WOOL
for a perfect skin climate
has a functionality that we know from hardly any other textile. It insulates well (warms in cold, cools in heat), does not scratch the skin, is odourless, absorbs a lot of moisture without feeling wet, is lightweight, anti-static, low-pilling and retains its fit or hardly creases at all. Merino wool is made from the finely crimped undercoat of the merino sheep.
Our superfine merino wool with a yarn count of 16-18,5 microns is currently the best 100 % merino quality on the market. It is mercerised and refined with Superwash. This gives it a special shine and prevents pilling and scratching. It comes from farms that do not use the controversial mulesing shearing method.
CASHMERE WOOL

is incredibly fine, soft, supple, very light and nestles comfortably against the skin. The fibre has very good thermal insulation (stores heat better than wool) and is moisture repellent. Cashmere also does not crease, quickly returns to its original shape and is odour repellent. The luxurious wool is obtained from the cashmere goat. For this the cashmere goats are not shorn, but combed once a year. Only the particularly soft, cuddly undercoat is used.

HANRO exclusively processes high-quality merino wool from South African farms that do not use the controversial mulesing process. Mulesing is the removal of the skin from around the tail of sheep without the use of painkillers, to prevent infestation with fly maggots (myiasis). Our Italian yarn supplier only works with farms that guarantee and promote respect for animal welfare. He is also member of the SMI (Sistema Moda Italia) and the IWTO (International Wool Textile Organisation).

Modal is considered to be particularly sustainable as less water and energy are needed in its production and processing. Modal also has a higher elasticity and stretch than cotton. TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are biodegradable, compostable and can be completely returned to nature. They are kind to the skin and almost as soft as silk.
One of the outstanding properties is their high absorption, which promotes a natural temperature balance. This makes the skin feel pleasant and dry. The TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres used by HANRO come from the company Lenzing AG from Austria. They are made from sustainably grown wood in a closed manufacturing process with low ecological impact. Als Experte für natürliche Fasern verarbeitet HANRO ausschließlich hochwertige Baumwollfasern der Kategorie langstapelig und extra langstapelig. Darunter fallen die Giza-Baumwolle, Pima- und Supima-Baumwolle sowie die hochwertigste Baumwolle der Welt, die Sea Island-Baumwolle.

GIZA-BAUMWOLLE
besonders zart und fein
Ägyptische Baumwolle gilt als eine der feinsten, begehrtesten und teuersten Baumwollsorten der Welt. Giza-Baumwolle beschreibt eine extra langstapelige Faser, die im Niltal in Ägypten angebaut wird. Stoffe, die aus ägyptischer Baumwolle gesponnen werden, sind besonders weich, langlebig, gleichzeitig sehr fein und werden mit zunehmenden Alter immer zarter.
Wegen ihrer hohen Saugfähigkeit wird diese Baumwolle auch oft für Handtücher und Bettwäsche verwendet. Die Produktionsmenge von Giza Baumwolle ist aufgrund der Anforderungen und der begrenzten zur Verfügung stehenden Anbaufläche sehr gering und macht nur einen geringen Prozentsatz der weltweiten Baumwollproduktion aus.
PIMA-BAUMWOLLE
besonders langlebig
Stoffe aus Pima-Baumwolle sind besonders strapazierfähig und langlebig. Durch die langen und feinen Fasern haben Stoffe aus Pima-Baumwolle einen matten Glanz, sind ausgesprochen weich und fließend. Pima-Baumwolle fühlt sich glatt und angenehm kühl an und speichert Körperwärme.
Die strahlend weißen Fasern nehmen Färbungen besser an und Farben bleiben länger schön und leuchtend. Diese Baumwollpflanze ist sehr empfindlich und stellt besondere Anforderungen an die Bodenbeschaffenheit. Deshalb wird Pima-Baumwolle nur in wenigen Ländern wie Peru, Ägypten und in einigen Staaten der USA angebaut und wird in der Regel von Hand geerntet.

Die seltene und luxuriöse Sea Island-Baumwolle ist eine der kostbarsten Baumwollarten der Welt und ihr Anteil an der gesamten Baumwoll-Produktionsmenge liegt bei lediglich 0,0004 %. Sie wächst ausschließlich auf den Westindischen Inseln der Karibik und die Bewässerung erfolgt durch starke Regenfälle hauptsächlich auf natürliche Weise. WOLLE & SEIDE

MERINOWOLLE
für ein perfektes Hautklima
verfügt über eine Funktionalität, wie wir sie von kaum einem anderen Textil kennen. Sie isoliert gut (wärmt bei Kälte, kühlt bei Wärme), kratzt nicht auf der Haut, ist geruchsneutral, nimmt viel Feuchtigkeit auf, ohne sich nass anzufühlen, ist leicht, antistatisch, pilling-arm und behält ihre Passform bzw. knittert kaum. Für Merinowolle wird die fein gekräuselte Unterwolle des Merinoschafs verwendet.
Unsere superfeine Merinowolle mit einer Garnstärke von 16-18,5 Mikron ist die derzeit beste 100 % Merino-Qualität auf dem Markt. Sie wird merzerisiert und mit Superwash veredelt. Das sorgt für besonderen Glanz und vermeidet Pilling und Kratzen. Sie stammt aus Betrieben, die auf die umstrittene Mulesing-Schur verzichten.
KASCHMIRWOLLE
besonders wärmend und leicht
ist unfassbar fein, weich, geschmeidig, ganz leicht und schmiegt sich angenehm an der Haut an. Die Faser hat eine sehr gute Wärmedämmung (speichert Wärme besser als Wolle) und ist feuchtigkeitsabweisend. Kaschmir knittert zudem nicht, kehrt schnell in seine Ursprungsform zurück und ist geruchsabweisend. Die luxuriöse Wolle wird von der Kaschmirziege gewonnen. Dafür werden die Kaschmirziegen nicht geschoren, sondern einmal im Jahr gekämmt. Es wird nur die besonders weiche, anschmiegsame Unterwolle verwendet.
SEIDE
für ein besonders weiches Tragegefühl
Seide veredelt die Wolle optisch und verstärkt die Trageeigenschaften der Wolle.
Unsere optimale Wolle-Seide-Mischung ist bestens für empfindliche Haut geeignet, da sie nicht kratzt.
Merinowolle und Seide können bis zu einem Drittel ihres Trockengewichts an Feuchtigkeit aufnehmen, ohne sich klamm anzufühlen. Diese Wäsche wärmt auch, wenn sie feucht ist, denn sie erzeugt aktiv Wärme, wenn sie Feuchtigkeit aufnimmt.

aus Respekt vor den Tieren
HANRO verarbeitet ausschließlich hochwertige Merinowolle von südafrikanischen Farmen, die auf das umstrittene Mulesing-Verfahren verzichten. Unter Mulesing versteht man das Entfernen der Haut rund um den Schwanz von Schafen ohne Schmerzausschaltung, um einen Befall mit Fliegenmaden (Myiasis) zu verhindern. Unser italienischer Garnlieferant arbeitet nur mit Betrieben zusammen, die den Respekt vor dem Tierschutz garantieren und fördern. Er ist außerdem Mitglied des SMI (Sistema Moda Italia) und der IWTO (International Wool Textile Organisation).

Eine der herausragenden Eigenschaften ist ihre hohe Feuchtigkeitsaufnahme, die einen natürlichen Temperaturausgleich fördert. Die Haut fühlt sich dadurch angenehm und trocken an. Die von HANRO verwendeten TENCEL™ Lyocell Fasern stammen von der Firma Lenzing AG aus Österreich. Sie werden aus nachhaltig gewachsenem Holz, in einem geschlossenen Herstellungsprozess mit geringen ökologischen Auswirkungen, gewonnen. Holz und Zellstoff stammen aus naturnahen Wäldern und nachhaltig bewirtschafteten Plantagen.

Circa l'80% dei tessuti che utilizziamo sono realizzati con fibre naturali e fibre di origine naturale. In qualità di esperto di fibre naturali, HANRO utilizza materiali naturali di altissima qualità come cotone, lana merino, cashmere e seta. Diverse certificazioni, rigorosi controlli di qualità, processi di perfezionamento innovativi e produzione in Europa sono i segreti dei nostri prodotti di qualità duraturi, resistenti e sostenibili. I nostri prodotti sono certificati STANDARD 100 da OEKO-TEX®. Si tratta del certificato più importante per i prodotti tessili che aderiscono alla pelle. Tutti i componenti di un prodotto soddisfano i severi criteri dei test OEKO-TEX®: tessuti, fili per cucire, inserti e stampe, nonché accessori non tessili come bottoni o cerniere. Selezioniamo i nostri fornitori in base a criteri economici, ecologici e sociali equilibrati; la certificazione OEKO-TEX® è un prerequisito.

La mercerizzazione è un processo molto complesso, per questo viene utilizzata solo per qualità particolarmente elevate. La macchina di precisione da 28 metri è anche orgogliosamente conosciuta in HANRO come la "macchina da un milione di dollari". Lo speciale processo di finitura della mercerizzazione morbida conferisce al cotone una speciale lucentezza simile alla seta, un'eccezionale brillantezza dei colori e una maggiore resistenza, durata e, di conseguenza, longevità. La mercerizzazione rende i nostri prodotti duraturi e sostenibili.

È qui che nascono le nostre inconfondibili creazioni in tessuto grazie ai più moderni processi produttivi. La lavorazione senza cuciture e orli, la morbida mercerizzazione e le più raffinate divisioni dei punti sono solo alcune delle innovazioni che sviluppiamo costantemente.
Grazie a una spaziatura degli aghi particolarmente stretta, produciamo tessuti di una finezza ineguagliabile. Ogni pizzo viene cucito a mano. Ogni singolo orlo viene poi controllato. In questo modo garantiamo ai nostri clienti una qualità impeccabile.
Uno degli esempi più noti dell'incomparabile qualità HANRO è lo spaghetto senza cuciture "Cotton Seamless". Il tessuto è realizzato al 100% in cotone a fiocco lungo. È lavorato a maglia nella produzione propria dell'azienda su macchine circolari particolarmente fini. Ciò conferisce al tessuto una mano molto morbida. La mercerizzazione conferisce al top la sua incomparabile lucentezza senza tempo e una maggiore durata. Le spalline regolabili in raso riflettono l'amore di HANRO per i dettagli.

IDEALE PER LE ATTIVITÀ ALL'APERTO
L'abbigliamento caldo in lana merino e seta è l'intimo funzionale ideale per tutte le attività all'aperto in inverno.
I nostri prodotti in lana sono più morbidi ed elastici grazie alla speciale finitura e sono garantiti per non graffiarsi. Spesso utilizziamo la lana come mix di materiali. In particolare, la combinazione di lana e seta inodore è ottimale, poiché entrambe le fibre hanno le stesse proprietà.
La seta affina visivamente la lana e ne migliora le proprietà di vestibilità. Questa combinazione è particolarmente adatta ai clienti sensibili alla lana, in quanto non graffia.
LINO
La morbida fibra naturale ricavata dagli steli della pianta di lino è leggera, traspirante e piacevolmente fresca sulla pelle. Il lino è robusto, durevole e diventa ancora più morbido e brillante quando viene indossato e lavato.
In questo modo, il lino può assumere quasi l'aspetto della seta. I tessuti di lino di HANRO sono tessuti in Austria e il lino utilizzato è certificato 100 % Made in Europe - dalla coltivazione delle materie prime alla produzione di filati e tessuti.
