ELENA PANAGOPOULOS and SANDRA GRABHER, designers at HANRO for 7 years, tell us about their favorite series ELIN from the trend collection for Spring/Summer 2019. In this interview, they share with us what makes the series so special and give us their best styling tips.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE THE ELIN COLLECTION?

Our inspiration was blossoms floating on water and branches against a blue sky. The floral print, is reminiscent of budding blossom branches-- very fine and delicate, yet full of detail. The floral pattern is only noticeable at second glance. We like that very much. The print also works brilliantly with the basic “Aqua Grey” color.

WHAT WAS THE PROCESS BEHIND THE CREATION OF ELIN?

We sent inspirational images of various floral prints to our producer Lizybiz in Paris. They have an extensive archive of hand-drawn designs. Then, they have a look to see which print comes closest to our vision. For the floral print for Elin, we adjusted the distribution of color and blossoms ourselves.

WHAT IS THE DESIGN LANGUAGE OF THE ELIN SERIES?

The cuts of the day and nightwear are clean, pared-down looks. This means that the print and color can speak for themselves and are brought to the forefront thanks to the sleek design. The playful floral is quite concealed and is onl y obvious if you were to take a closer look.

WHAT MAKES THE ELIN SERIES SO SPECIAL?

The Asian-inspired floral motif has a very airy feel and matches the light fabric of the series perfectly. The micro-modal nightwear is light, fluid, enveloping, and very pleasant on the skin. Thanks to a high elastane content, the lingerie offers a light support. A subtle detail in the collection are touches of opaque white on top of the floral print that look as if they’ve been hand painted.

STYLING TIPP

Since the colors of the floral print also appear in other ranges, Elin can be mixed and matched throughout the collection. For example, it can be paired with “Lace Delight” in soft lilac, with “Hella” in reed green, or with “Grand Central” in white lilac. The more fashionforward girl can wear Elin as an all-over pajama-look, a style that is currently on trend. The spaghetti dress can also be worn as a beach cover-up.
